Balasubramanian has over 4 decades of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry covering all functions of Management in both Formulations and Bulk Drugs with Wockhardt, Lupin, PPI, Unichem, Shalina Laboratories and Wanbury. Prior to this, he has worked for eight years in the Engineering Industry (Automobile & Structural Fabrication) with Mahindra & Mahindra, Richardson & Cruddas.
He has held Senior Management positions in key functions such as Business Development, Marketing, Manufacturing, Purchase, Planning, Distribution, Logistics Management and all aspects of Supply Chain Management, Systems Development & Implementation, and a well-designed Performance appraisal system.
As Director-Commercial of PPIL, covered responsibilities for Marketing-Business Development & New products.
Was Director-India Operations for M/s. Shalina Laboratories Pvt. Ltd a 100% Export-Oriented organisation, manufacturing, and marketing formulations to the African Continent.
Last assignment was with Wanbury Limited in their A.P.I. Division as Director (Operations), converting a loss-making division to a profitable business within four years.
Is associated with an Investment Organisation with a wide range of Products in the Financial Services Area as their Consultant.
He is an M.B.A. (IIM – CALCUTTA 1972-74) and holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering B.E. (Mechanical).
